Historical moments in the Growth of Mother Home
2004 September 8
With the permission from His Grace Mar George Valiamattam, the Archbishop of Tellicherry, Rev. Fr. Mathew Asariparambil bought 4 acres of land at Pariyaram with the intention of constructing a Prayer House. A group of well wishers financially helped him to buy the land. This was the beginning of Mother Home. On the day of Feast of Nativity of Mother Mary the work of the House started. He was assisted by Mr. Mons Edasseril of Chanadanackampara Parish.
2005 March 15
His Grace Mar George Valiamattam blessed this Prayer House as Mother Home and a Chapel was dedicated. The Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Tellicherry Msgr. Dr. Joseph Karinattu, Rev. Fr. Mathew Vengakunnel, Rev. Fr. Sunny Elavumkunnel, Rev Fr. Mathew Kanakkattu and a few sisters were present. Around 100 persons attended the programme.
2005 April 3
The first Inner Healing Retreat was conducted with 6 members.
Rev. Fr. Mathew Asariparambil took initiative and bought land at Pariyaram to build a church.
His Grace Mar George Valiamattam blessed the Church and thus Mother Theresa Parish was established at Pariyaram.
2006 May 20
Leaving behind the position of Vicar of St. Thomas Church Payyanur and Mother Theresa Church Pariyaram, Rev. Fr. Mathew Asariparambil started living in Mother Home in a small room of the building.
2007 March 23
Perpetual Adoration Chapel was blessed by the Archbishop. Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored from dawn to dusk. Mother Home was declared as the Official Retreat Centre of the Archdiocese.
2007 May 9
On the request of the Archbishop, the entire land and property were dedicated to the Archdiocese by Rev. Fr. Mathew Asariparambil and the documents were registered in the name of Procurator.
2007 July 1
The new Retreat Hall which could accommodate 300 persons was blessed by Msgr. Mathew M Chalil, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese. The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha (CSM) was ready to start a community near Mother Home and help the Centre for its functioning. Sr. Nessy Maria and Sr. Vineetha as the first members of the Community began living in a rented house nearby and served here.
2007 September 13
Tapas Retreat led by Rev. Fr. Zacharias Thadathil MST began.
2008 March 18
‘Ave Maria Hall’, the three - stored building was blessed by the Archbishop as the Residential Block for the ladies.
2008 May 20
Rev. Fr. Mathew Vengakunnel came here as the Administrator of the House.
‘Fourteen ‘Stations of the Cross’ installed in the premise of Mother Home were blessed.
2010 May 15
Rev. Fr. Thomas Pampackal was appointed as the spiritual Father of the Community.
2010 October 16
‘Zion Hall’ – Dining hall - Maids of jacksonville and Gents’ block - was blessed by Mar George Valiamattam. ‘The Rosary Village’ was inaugurated by Mar Thomas Chakkiath - Ernakulam, in the presence of Kannur Bishop His Excellency Dr. Varghese Chakkalackal and thousands of persons on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebration of Rev. Fr. Mathew Asariparambil.
2012 May 12
Rev. Fr. Benny Puthennadayil took the Office as Administrator and Retreat Preacher.
Mother Home started proclamation of the Word of God through Goodness Channel and later through Shalom Channel.
2012 October 26
Sisters’ Retreat began.
2013 October 12
New Retreat Hall in memory of the Golden Jubilee of the Archbishop Mar George Valiamattam was blessed. This air conditioned Hall has the capacity of 500 persons.
2014 April 9
Mar Joseph Porunnedom, Bishop of Mananthavady blessed ‘Mother Mary’s Grotto’.
